Solar house-太陽能房屋
Awarded the People's Choice Prize at the first Solar Decathlon Europe competition, held in
June, this prototype for a prefabricated,sustainable and affordable housing solution was
developed at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) in Barcelona, by
a fabrication laboratory, or Fab Lab.

在六月舉行的第一屆太陽能十項全能歐洲競賽獲得人民選擇獎,此房屋的設計
開發單位為位於巴塞隆納的實驗室,開發方向為經濟實惠及永續發展。


Using cutting-edge digital processes and machinery, the architecture- and design-oriented
lab focuses on the investigation and production of prototypes and scale modelsfor
construction and related fields,with an emphasis on personalized assembly and
customization abilities.

使用先進的數字化排程與設備,建築物結構為主要設計的導向,實驗室專注
研究於原型及規模建設的研究與生產,並強調特有以及個性化的外觀。

In this respect, the Solar House is designed to be manufactured globally, tailored to location
and climate through a worldwide network of Fab Labs, in essence small-scale workshops
with the infrastructure and tools to implement such designs.

在設計方面,太陽能房屋的設計都經過晶圓廠實驗室的全球網路量身訂做,
除了可以定位房屋位置以外,定位房屋位置之後,即可知道房屋當地位置,
得知氣候資訊。

Conceived with a combination of simple construction and geometric sophistication, the
shape of the house maximizes internal volume while maintaining a minimal
exteriorsurface. According to the lab, this 'standard paraboloid section is positioned for
solar tracking, and deformed in steps aimed towards an optimal orientation for summer
(narrowing to the west, eastward widening and flattening toward the zenith of 70 degrees).
' Domestic areas can be naturally ventilated; the elevated placement on three 'legs'(not only
structural, but also points for ground-level access to technical equipment) creates a shaded
area that provides cooled air, as well as a versatile outdoor space.

以簡單的結構與複雜的幾何圖形,組合成房屋內部空間大,卻同時保持最小的
房屋外觀。根據實驗,房屋的表面能定位及追蹤太陽能,夏季時能達到最大的
效應。房屋的結構為三個支撐點,讓房屋可自然通風,提供了自然的冷氣以及
建立室外的陰影空間。



The plywood panelling – laser-cut, assembled and transported in transversal ring sections
to the site – was chosen primarily because it is a common, globally sourcedmaterial that is
also lightweight, making structural components more manageable. This material efficiency
enables overall cost reduction and minimizes construction time;the entire dwelling, which
houses a family of four, can be erected in less than fifteen days. Digitally distributable, locally
producible and individually customizable, the methodology behind this prefab unit advocates
digital media – the Internet – as a prime tool in designing and manufacturing economical,
attainable and energy-saving homes.

房屋的建造組合方式為,事先切割好模板,運送至施工現場組裝,目前是施工
中最重要的一環,也是最常見的,此材料為全球常見的採購材料,質量輕,使
得結構不建更易於搬運管理。 這種材料模板使得整體的施工成本降低,縮短工
時。這個擁有四個開放門窗的特殊太陽能房屋,建造時間只要不到15天的時間,
所以此房屋的建造能夠節省工時以及經濟實惠,最重要的是能達到節約能源的
效果。
